Many, many thanks for sending me your sparkling obituary. I very much appreciated learning things about my aunt I would never have known, since these were matters which, for the most part, she did not share with my much less adventurous mother. Sadly I only knew Marian through her, and would have loved to have known her better; we would have had so much fun together!! I knew your grandfather much better, having spent more time with him in both Brooklyn and Florida. I also loved the photo you attached, in which Marian was very recognisable and you appear to be the image of your father!

This is hilarious! And absurd. I see that this was originally posted in 2007. These days she’d just say that she was making TSA’s job easier, and I bet SW would have let her fly, no problem!

Thank you so much for sharing! Having only witnessed shuttle launches remotely (from NASA’s Dryden Flight Research Center), it’s such a rush to read and see your experiences. It’s always been difficult to imagine the magnitude everything related to the shuttle, but this helps put it into perspective.
